GLADSTONE DIVE GROUP.

Our new wreck dive MV Karma.

February Newsletter 2004. The 35th. Edition.

Hi Divers, Unfortunately we can’t start off on a happy note due to the fact that one of the most popular divers in our group (due to no fault of his own or anyone else’s) suffered a sever bend on the Australia day weekend and was transported to Townsville for treatment in the recompression chamber. We would like to thank all the other divers who were on the boat for their fantastic management of the situation.

Dive summary for January.

The weather was very stormy and unpredictable in January with lots of rain making the water a bit green but it’s nice and warm. We managed to get a few more dives in on the Karma but it was a very bumpy ride there and back just ask Maree! We also visited the Shannon 2 again and believe me this is (an awesome dive) and will be even better when the big fish move in, But remember this dive is 46mtrs and only for the experienced & confident! The Barcoola was really going off and I can see why they call it "The Mighty Barcoola" the best wreck dive on the Central Queensland Coast!

Other dive sites visited were the wrecks of the Red Dolphin and Moreton Star.

Cheers and keep diving.

Col.
